The United States Stamp Society's Statue of Freedom Medal is available to be presented to the best exhibit of U.S. material from 1847 to the present shown at each of the various national level shows held throughout the country during the year.  However, it is not always awarded if, in the Jury's opinion, there is not an exhibit deserving of it.  The chosen exhibit must receive at least a Vermeil medal although the recipient need not be a USSS member.

During this last exhibiting season, the medal was awarded at twenty-two of the World Series of Philately shows.  Seven of the winners also won the Grand Award at the same show.  There were also six one frame exhibits among the recipients.

The Society's Officers and Board of Governors wish to extend their congratulations to the following exhibitors who have won the Statue of Freedom Medal during the exhibiting season just completed (July, 2002 through June, 2003) and to thank them for helping to promote the Society's goal, to "Know Your Country's Stamps."
