The W. Wallace Cleland Award is given to the exhibitor of the best single-frame exhibit displayed at the Society’s Annual Meeting exhibition. The award, created in 2014, honors Cleland, one of the USSS/BIA’s most prolific authors and researchers, particularly in the production and printing of U.S. postage and revenue stamps. Cleland was a three time winner of the Hopkinson Memorial Literature Awards (1986, 2002, 2006) and was honored with the Smithsonian’s Philatelic Achievement Award.
